For new drivers:
The PASS program focuses on sensitivity training to drivers that provide assistance to passengers with special needs. The trainee administers an online component in subject areas including but not limited to Customer Service, Communication and Stress Management, Americans with Disabilities Act, Bloodborne Pathogens and Disability Awareness. This self-paced course includes 6 modules between 15 to 45 min per module with a test at the end of each module. Upon completion of all 6 modules, the trainee can obtain a printable PASS Basic certificate including a number.
In order to receive a PASS driver certification in wheelchair securement training, the trainee is required to have a certified PASS trainer administers the wheelchair securement (hands-on) training in person. Trainee must follow-up directly with his/her employer to schedule training. CTAA can provide a list of trainers if one is not available. Email your request to include the state you reside in directly to training department at email@example.com. Wheelchair securement (hands-on) training must be completed within 3 months to avoid certification overlap.
